Diagnostics

Our diagnostics starts with samples (organs, isolates, swab samples) from your animals. We isolate the pathogens and characterise those thoroughly. After about 7-14 days you will receive a detailed report containing all information from specific tests we offer:

  • diagnosis of unknown bacterial infections in all kind of animals
  • specific cultivation of Riemerella from animal sources on self-developed media, this works best from heads of infected animals
  • diagnosis specially looking for pathogens of the AHP - group (Actinobacillus, Haemophilus, Pasteurella) and their characterisation
  • cultivation and characterisation of Ornithobacterium rhinotracheale, Bordetella spp., Erysipelothrix rhusiopathiae, Moraxella spp., Coenonia anatina, Streptococcus spp., Staphylococcus spp.
  • isolation and characterisation of E. coli, Salmonella spp. and others as well as pathogens of the Enterobacteriaceae family.
  • isolation and toxin-test and toxin-characterization of Cl. perfringens, Cl. septicum, Cl. norvyi and other pathogenic Cl. spp.
  • isolation and characterisation of pathogenic Pseudomonas spp.

All results are send to you immediately in a way you prefer (phone, fax and / or e-mail) and you are individually advised on a strategy in respect to epidemiological and therapeutically consequences. If you wish, we will then develope an autologous / autogenous vaccine for your animals on the basis of our diagnosis.

Advantages of autologous / autogenous vaccines
Autologous / autogenous vaccines are specifically »designed« for your flock and allow a targeted theraphy and prophylaxis directly in your animal stock.The application of antibiotica can be greatly reduced and can be totally dropped in most cases. A utologous / autogenous vaccines are especially suited for:

  1. infections with serotypes which are not included in other commercial vaccines
  2. infections which can not be cured with other commercial vaccines

The development and application of emergency vaccines is accompanied throughout the process by our and the veterinarian.



Development and strategy for emergency vaccines
All isolated strains are kept in our strain collection. In case the first pathogen characterisation was not done by Ripac - Laboratory, we would be very thankful if you advise the other laboratory to send us the strain. We will then test the isolated pathogens and decide if those can be used in our vaccine. For every vaccine we develop a specific strategy and composition, depending on the type of animal, the way animals are used and the epidemiological situation.



The most important applications of flock specific vaccines are:

  1. Autologous / autogenous vaccines against pulmonary infections in turkey and chicken
  2. Autologous / autogenous vaccines against R. anatipestifer - infections in goose, ducks and turkeys
  3. Autologous / autogenous vaccines against E. coli -infections in poultry
  4. Autologous / autogenous vaccines against P. multocida - infections
  5. Autologous / autogenous vaccines against Cl. perfringens Typ A und Typ C - toxin infection in poultry and porks

On your request we develop modular vaccines for goose, ducks, turkeys and chicken against any of the following pathogens:
